C’est avec une grande tristesse que nous venons d’apprendre le décès de Sandra Reemer.
Né le 17 octobre 1950 à Bandung en Indonésie, la chanteuse avait représenté les Pays-Bas à trois reprises.
En 1972, elle remporte la 4ème place du Concours avec la chanson « Als Het om de Liefde Gaat » (Tout est question d’Amour), chanson qu’elle interprète en duo avec Dries Andres Holten.
Sandra participera à nouveau au Concours à deux autres reprises :
En 1976 avec une chanson en anglais « The Party’s over » (La fête est finie). C’est à nouveau un top 10 puisque le titre termine à la 9ème place du Concours.
Enfin, elle revient pour la dernière fois comme artiste principale en 1979, à Jerusalem, sous le nom de Xandra. Elle y chantera « Colorado », le titre se placera en 12ème position du Concours cette année-là et sera un succès dans les pays nordiques.
Enfin, en 1983, Sandra Reemer portera à nouveau les couleurs des Pays-Bas, mais cette fois-ci comme choriste pour la chanteuse Bernadette qui terminera quant à elle 7ème du Concours avec la chanson « Sing me a Song ».
Les fans du Concours Eurovision auront eu la chance de la voir sur scène en 2014 lors du spectacle « Eurovision in Concert ». Elle y présentait les artistes venus faire la promotion de leur titre pour le Concours Eurovision se déroulant à Copenhague au Danemark.
L’artiste a malheureusement perdu sa bataille contre un cancer du sein. Elle est décédée ce mardi 6 juin 2017.

It’s with huge sadness that we learnt Sandra Reemer died today.
She was born in Bandung, Indonesia, on October 17th 1950. The singer had represented The Netherlands three times.
In 1972, she grabbed a 4th place in the Song Contest with the song « Als Het om de Liefde Gaat » (It’s all about love), she performed in a duet with Dries Andres Holten.
Sandra will take part in the Contest two more times :
In 1976 with a song in English « The Party’s over ». This is another top 10 because the song will reach the 9th position in the Contest.
Then, she is back for the last time as the main artist in 1979, in Jerusalem, under the name Xandra. She will sing « Colorado », the song will reach the 12th position in the Contest this very same year and will be a hit in the Nordic countries.
Finally, in 1983, Sandra Reemer will carry the colors of The Netherlands once again, but, this time, as a backing singer for Bernadette who will end 7th of the Contest with the song « Sing me a Song ».
The fans of the Eurovision Song Contest had the chance to see her on stage in 2014 during the show « Eurovision in Concert » in Amsterdam. She presented the artists who came to promote their song for the Eurovision Song Contest of Copenhagen, Denmark.
The artist unfortunately lost the battle against a breast cancer. She deceased this Tuesday, June 6th 2017.
