L’Islande fête un anniversaire cette année, elle soufflera ses 30 bougies sur la scène de l’Eurovision en Ukraine.

C’est en effet, en 1986 que le pays a fait son entrée dans le Concours. Cette année-là, c’est la Norvège qui reçoit l’évènement, ce fut l’occasion rêvée pour que l’Islande s’installe définitivement dans le show.

En 30 participations, le plus petit des pays nordiques a obtenu la médaille d’argent à deux reprises, en 1999 avec Selma « All Out of Luck », puis en 2009 avec Yohanna « Is It True ».

La RÚV, télévision nationale, a organisé sa finale au travers du show  « Söngvakeppnin 2017 ».

Il y a eu deux demi-finales, deux fois 6 artistes. Les 3 premiers de chaque demi-finale ont accédé à la grande finale de ce samedi 11 mars. Un 7^ème artiste « repêché » vient étoffer celle-ci.

A l’issue d’une première partie de votes (50/50 jurys televoting), deux finalistes se sont disputés le titre.

Le gagnant représentera l’Islande à Kiev. Il s’agit de Svala avec la chanson "Paper".           .

Iceland celebrates a birthday this year; they will blow out their 30 candles on the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev.

Actually, the country entered the Contest in 1986. This very same year, it’s Norway the host of the Contest; it was the perfect opportunity for Iceland to settle in the show for good.

In 30 participations, the smallest Nordic Country grabbed the silver medal twice, in 1999 with Selma « All Out of Luck », and in 2009 with Yohanna « Is It True ».

RÚV, the national television, organized its final through the show « Söngvakeppnin 2017 ».

There was two semi-finals, 6 artists in each one. The 3 first artists of each semi-finals acceded to the grand final of this Saturday March 11^th. A 7^th artist is given a second chance and comes to put weight on this final.

At the end of the first part of the votes (50% jury / 50% televoting) two finalists competed for the title.

The winner will represent Iceland in Kiev. That is to say Svala with the song "Paper".
